Hello Dr. Cliff. I'm currently wearing the Phonak Sphere and have the highest technology level. I really like these hearing aids, but I'm struggling with the BTE model that I have never worn, but have tried to wear. I wear a hat and glasses. They should make glasses for hearing aids.

Great video, and you confirmed what I have been saying for ages; the only difference between the lowest and highest technology levels is the programming - the aids are otherwise identical. You mention that there should only be a couple of hundred dollars between levels; when I bought my Unitrons three years ago, each technology level was AU$2000 more. I feel I was taken advantage then (they were my first hearing aids). I'm looking forward to my next set, I am so much better informed now. Thanks for the video.

I was recently fitted with Signia Pure Charge and Go T 7IX by the Veterans Administration. I'm currently in a one month period of getting used to the devices before they will be properl adjusted. The audiologist did do real ear measurement but did not adjust the result to my prescription. As a result I've had to run the volume level quite low and the balance to soft as trebles are quitev sharp. These replace a pair of Signia Pure C & G 7NX which were about 4 years old but were never really set up properly and weren't worn regularly. I live in Georgetown, Ky. and we have one of your Best Practices audiologists in town so I may be seeing her if the VA doesn't do a comprehensive set up.

Lucid Hearing sells prescription models with with 16, 24, 32, 64, 96 and 128 "channels" for varying prices. I'm wondering is those are like equalizer bands, and if so it seems like 128 channels is a bit of overkill? Since the Lucid hearing aids seem to only be sold at Sam's club, and is the only brand sold at Sam's Club, it may simply be a "marketing" term.

I can’t say i truly understand the different technology levels. I based my decision on features that i thought i would most likely use and that all my devices would play well with each other. My watch, phone and tablet all work well with my hearing devices and they can work better when i upgrade my watch and phone. This is my first set of devices and I have had them for 19 months. The technology on my watch and phone is considerably older and could definitely be upgraded. My biggest concern was over rechargeable versus disposable devices and i did end up purchasing more than one pair of devices for that reason. The feature i like the best are remote microphones. And i do have an excellent Hearing Up audiologist, Scot Frink, AuD who always does an outstanding job with my hearing healthcare.

I have the Phonak Naida Lumity L90 BTE UP hearing aids with custom ear molds along with the Roger-On listening device due to my severe to pronounced hearing loss.

ACT test could shed light if a higher technology level is needed.... Along with the need of ALD.s Thus, i dont fully agree with you., in addition an instrument with 10K bandwith usueally has better sound quality.
