I'd honestly say the lack of functionality can be a big positive for a true beginner. I have a ton of synths but they're intimidating to my kiddo. Picked up a P45 (similar to the P145) over the holidays and she's been playing it almost daily.

It's got some extra functionality but on the surface it's just power and volume. Nothing to distract from just playing.

My son has been playing piano now for about 2.5 years (he's 8) and the Roland FP-10 is everything we need. Recently I've picked back up playing in earnest myself (I briefly took lessons in high school 20+ years ago) and can vouch that the FP-10 feels great. We don't need a ton of features or sounds, and the headphones, USB, and Bluetooth work great. We use it with Piano Marvel via my son's teacher and it connects great to an iPad and other third party piano learning apps like Note Rush. I've been able to learn and play a few more intermediate level pieces such as Nuvole Bianche by Einaudi and it sounds great, lots of dynamic range. Someday I can see us upgrading to a larger or better model but it works great in our living room for what we need.

I went back on studying the piano and just bought a Roland fp30x. Worth the bucks. It will accompany me for a long time.

I have a Yamaha DGX670. It has so meny features that I don't really need, however the mane reason why I chose it is because it plays, and sounds amazing especially for the price🦊🎹🎶

I personally went with the Yamaha P71 as my first keyboard. It has all the features you need: Weighted Keys, a pedel, good speakers, simple design, mulitple instrument options, and it is just plug and play. And at just $399 it is also one of the cheapest options out there for a full 88 key keyboard. If you are just learning to play and and do not want to break the bank, it is great option.

My beginner was a pipe organ in church along with the upright. Like many kids in the late 60s/early 70s, I played at church and school. Now I play a Roland Fantom for live performances.

Arturia keylab 88 mk2 has weighted keys. Keylab essentials 88 and keylabs with fewer keys have synth action.

What about Casio Cdp-s360? It's about $150-200 cheaper where I live than the beginner keyboards listed in the video.

The Casio Privia PX-S7000 and Yamaha P-145 would be my top picks. I have been seeing and hearing excellent remarks about these 2.

Arturia Keylab 88 MkII uses the Fatar TP100LR keybed Price around 1000usd. Studiologic sl88 studio uses the same keybed at under half the price. And if you want an even more realistic feel go for Studiologic sl88 Grand using Fatar TP40Wood. big upgrade, still cheaper than the Arturia. Also Studiologic is made by Fatar
