Vanguard is for people who want to spam charge. Sentinel is the ultimate tank. Soldier is weapon damage. Engineer is debuffs/anti shield/armor. Adept is for crowd control. Infiltrator is for sniping and being invisible. Thats really it.

Sentinal is kinda slept on. Offers a bit of everything for offensive with some of the best defense. Engineer is also fun because you are given two different play styles in a class.

No matter what class I try, I always seem to restart as a soldier. They only have a few abilities, but they are extremely versatile. You just have to keep your teammates abilities in mind for each mission.

with the LE allowing Sentinels to use Assualt Rifles, it's now the best class imo bc it solves the weakest problem before which was combat damage.

I played soldier in ME1 run but in ME2 I switched to vanguard. I always thought the Cerberus reconstruction was a catalyst story point for gaining biotics

I’ve beaten the game in every class except sentinel. Playing Lengendary as a Sentinel on insanity. With the weapons restrictions removed, I’m carrying a sniper rifle. With Barrier upgraded, the build feels like an infiltrator that has the bonus of using biotics. I’m having an absolute blast

Everyone sleeps on Sentinel. Easily the best utility in ME1 so you never need to worry about bringing a medic or hacker or disabler with you, and an unkillable god in ME2 & 3. Not even a competition.

Honestly, I would always think methodically and go Sentinel so I had answers to both barrier and shield, that way I didn’t have to rely on any certain squadmates and could bring whichever homies I wanted.

Also, in my experience I had the most fun with biotic & tech explosions, & sentinel was a good choice for that.

I'm choosing the Engineer, specifically because It was lovely to choose my squad without having to always worry about hacking and loosing out on loot in ME1. In ME2 Incinerate, Overload, and the 25% discount on research was amazing. And finally in ME3 having tech combo's with Cryoblast, Incinerate, and Overload for all situations and resistances. Plus in ME3, you get a unique paragon interrupt in the Omega DLC that is exclusive for the Engineer that bypasses a choice on who to sacrifice in the DLC.

Mass Effect 1 - Soldier - you can basically become invincible at max level with the heavy colossus armor and immunity skill, Mass Effect 2 and 3 - Infiltrator in my experience it’s the best for insanity difficulty, being able to turn invisible is critical.

I might be almost a year late, but I am glad to see you also did mass effect videos. I found out about you through your unite vids that helped me so much, being the first moba I have ever played. Now that I'm playing mass effect, my first fps, around grinding for masters, I'm glad that you are still there on my journey to try genres I've never played. Thanks a lot!

Sentinel is actually a good class because it can deal with both armor and shields and it has massive protection.
Overload strips the shields and Warp damage Armor and flesh. So you're the only class with "powers" (not talking ammo) that can take down all defenses of an enemy + you have staying power in that your Techshield can take a lot of damage..
That is why I so often end up picking Sentinel. I find I can deal with any threat without having to "whittle down" some defenses. An Adept is sh*t out of luck trying to deal with Shielded enemies. His powers won't work until the shield is gone. I think warp does some damage to shields but just minor.

Only other class that can strip armor and shields is engineer with overload and incinerate.

Infiltrator is fun because of sniper focus and the extra damage firing from cloak.
Vanguard is fun because of the mobility around the map. But sadly the charge does absolutely pathetic amount of damage. If charge did massive damage slamming into an enemy it would be super fun. But it's just a teleport mechanic. Leaving it all up to shotgun shotgun and shotgun. Making it very boring after a while. IMO..

It used to be Adept, because I like crowd control for my squadmates. I usually stayed the same for all 3. For MELE I chose to be an engineer for the 1st time ever, since I can use the assault and sniper rifle with no issues. I like far away combat and controlling the enemy. For my LE playthrough I will stay an Engineer because I'm enjoying it immensely.

I always have gone for the hybrid classes .And always have used the Maleshep during my playhroughs. So this time i'm definatly gonna give FemShep and pure class a try. Pretty hyped for Mass effect 1 in particular since it was such a long time ago i played it.

Adept on insanity in ME2 is pretty slept on. They play inverse. You use the power to hold them in place and then use biotics to safely guarantee kills. Whereas the enemies still shoot back after stripping defenses. Throw out singularity on a single layer protected enemy. Now that enemy is stunlocked, out of the fight, and takes minor chip damage. Take their defense down, toss a warp or throw and they're dead if affected by singularity(Wide is BIS for area denial/multiple enemies). If not, use pull and warp(faster animation) It's slow, but it's the safest class and ammo is never a concern. Even safer then Infiltrator once you finally get the odd rhythm down.Singularity boosts your AI's usefulness as well, even they can't miss stunlocked/flying targets. And I used to despise the Adept until seriously figuring out how the ability works with Liara.

TL;DR - Adept kills the shield/armor with singularity stunlock, then uses powers on health. Other classes strip defenses with powers then use guns on health. Difference, enemy shoots back with health. Unless you're an infiltrator(they don't play cause invisible) or vanguard(wombo combo, people's elbow, Geth Colossus melee % on Haestrom)

Vanguard + Biotic charge = beating the game almost instantly

I think Vanguard is overall the most fun in ME2, and ME3 for ME1 I personally run Adept but Infiltrator can also be dumb fun with Sniper builds

Love playing as an Adept! You haven't lived until you've caught three Krogan in a single maxed out Singularity and watched them twirl around!
