Niching down has always been challenging. I used to keep things broad, because when I'd *really* specify my content, I find myself close to hating that topic over time. Today, I've managed to narrow myself closer to "Animation on DVD" using my existing review skills as infrastructure.

I’ve tried gaming, reactions, mini docs, but when I finally started uploading Audio Engineering Tutorials is when my sub count started increasing daily and the views on the tutorial videos constantly go up. Is audio engineering the niche I wanted or enjoy most? Not at all… but its what is working and I do have a love for Mixing Vocals and making beats, so I am gonna stick with it until I have a solid following. THEN i’ll start doing music reactions as well. It can be difficult to do what you WANT instead of what WORKS.. but doing what works will ultimately lead to being able to do what you want. 💪🏽

In the gaming space it’s important where games are our niche it’s important to pick titles that have audience crossover as all games have a finite life cycle and u don’t want to attempt to go from a farming sim to a first person shooter.

So I just made a short and it got 1000 views and I also gained 7 subscribers from it but I then lost 4 subscribers is there a reason to why I lost some subs.or is YouTube just not showing the correct amount of subscribers.

True. But like the video's i make. Car restoration. It's mostly what you love doing. I don't like new Lambo's and ferrari's. I restore old classic volvo's and that's what i love to do. this is not a great niche but the followers you get from this are just so cool. but it took me 3 years to reach 1000 subs. But they live the same dream as you do and thats great.

So I have a Twitch channel that focuses on horror games and platformers. For YouTube would I have to pick just one or can i do both

I don’t understand how this is an issue for some people. Why would you want to have a YouTube channel without knowing what you’re going to make? I started my channel because I like playing Fortnite and I like LEGO so I make videos that present some of my proudest Fortnite games and LEGO clips. If you’re not passionate about something why would you do it?
