Letting God Take His Time

Fr. Mike reflects on why God often takes his time when working in our lives. Sometimes God has to go back to the foundation of a problem to answer our prayers. This takes time, but every moment is worth it because it’s time spent with him.

Listening to his videos has restored my faith. I was raised as a Protestant but after education, this makes more sense to me. I plan to convert to Catholicism. I have been single all my life. I used to be so impatient, and I never let a day go by without praying to the Lord for more patience. I waited a long time, but you know, He must’ve heard me, because now I have overflowing patience and the calmness I waited almost my entire life for. But it has been SO worth while waiting for.

Wow father. This video made me realize a lot. God doesn't just want our actions, he wants us. He doesn't cure us of our vices because he doesn't just want a person who does the right things, he wants a person who truly wants to be virtuous and hates evil. He wants us to not just help our neighbour, but love him. Amen father. Beautiful

I heard a talk recently by a priest talking about when we want to have more patience. He said to be careful when we ask for more patience because God doesn't want us to FEEL patient He wants us to BE patient and learn patience. So you can be quite sure, God will send something or someone in your life that will require patience!!! And that is how we eventually become patient, by exercising that virtue!

Thank you Fr. Mike for talking about this. I decided in the Fall of 2018 to become Catholic. I will start RCIA classes in Oct and won't be baptized or have communion till Easter of 2020. Finding level ground within my soul and doing it right. Amen

You're so relatable! Many times when I'm doubting Catholicism and God in general, I remember you and other inspirational people who have faith. I think about C.S Lewis, JP2 and you, and I say well they were so smart how could they be wrong. So it gives me hope.

God is the Shepherd who protects us and saves from danger.... when we go astray he shall search for even one lost sheep to pull back, love, care and tend to that lamb and He rejoices when He brings back his sheep to the flock. May God bring back all his people on earth who have strayed away due to malpractices and bad habits...No one is perfect. There's always a chance to correct oneself and restart a new life to bring glory to GOD!!....
