You remind me of my friend, she was always very positive and confident and always looked at the future, while I even though had much better GPA and all the scholarships etc. was always down and worried about everything. She was extremely ambitious and confident while I was always lost and had no idea what I wanted, if she got a D in a class she would be upset only for a day while getting just a B would upset me for weeks. She was eventually even thrown out of our graduate program.


Today she works at intel making a ton of money while I who graduated with an excellent GPA and all the scholarships and fellowships on my resume makes only half of what she does. It took me a very long time (I am in my mid 30s now, I graduated top of my BE class) and later got a PhD. All of the so called losers in my undergraduate BE class who could barely pass and graduated 2nd or 3rd class are more successful than me because they all were confident and had right attitude.
