Farewell of Slavianka is a Russian patriotic march, written by the composer Vasily Agapkin in honour of the Slavic women accompanying their husbands in the First Balkan War. The march was written and premiered in Tambov in the end of 1912. In summer of 1915 it was released as a gramophone single in Kiev. Slavyanka means "Slavic woman".
The march was used as an unofficial anthem of Admiral Kolchak's White Army. In addition, the melody is used, with different lyrics, as the anthem of the Tambov Oblast.
FRANÇAIS: L'Adieu de Slavianka est une marche patriotique russe, écrite par le compositeur Vassili Agapkine en l'honneur des femmes slaves disant adieu à leurs maris en partance pour la Première Guerre balkanique. La marche fut représentée pour la première fois à Tambov en 1912 et sortit ensuite en disque. Slavianka signifie « slave » au féminin.
La mélodie obtint une rapide popularité en Russie, mais aussi dans les pays voisins pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, alors que les soldats russes quittaient leurs foyers au son de cette musique. Cette marche fut également utilisée comme hymne non officiel de l'Armée blanche de l'amiral Alexandre Vassilievitch Koltchak. Actuellement, la marche est reconnue comme hymne de l'oblast de Tambov.
РУССКИЙ: «Проща́ние славя́нки» — марш, написанный в 1912 году штаб-трубачом 7-го запасного кавалерийского полка, стоявшего в Тамбове, Василием Агапкиным под впечатлением от событий Первой Балканской войны (1912—1913). По существу является национальным маршем, символизирующим проводы на войну, на военную службу или в дальнее путешествие. За границами России является одним из самых узнаваемых «музыкальных символов» Российской империи, Советского Союза и Российской Федерации.
