Rather than doubling the tempo you can also change the time signature to 4/8.
Any time synced information like delay speeds, lfo's and such might not behave the way you want them to.
Just something to consider to make the right choice.

In the mean time I have a metronome emergency here. Midi clicks work half the time, audio sounds never. I remember something happen shortly after installing Cubase for the first time. Something with the metronome and now it work anymore. I want my clicks back!!! Haha....

So, can anyone tell me what the default settings are for midi, the default routing? I get an error message sometimes the metronome isn't routed when starting a project. MS wavetable maybe?

And ideas why the audio clicks don't work anymore, I think they are the best ones actually
