One important thing to note that I really feel should have been added to the video is that Mongooses are the build that engage in team killing the most in the entire game. 20% of Meerkats die from being attacked by another Meerkat.

Mongooses were introduced to most of the major islands in Hawaii by sugar plantation owners to control rats, but have had a devastating impact on native bird populations, mostly by eating the eggs of ground-nesting birds. These bird species are doing much better on Kauai, the biggest island that does not have mongooses.

This reminded so much of the quatis (coati in english) from Brazil. They are cousins of the racoons. They act really well together and devise smart plans. I remember once I went for a picnic with my family and they sent the younger ones to greet us and distract us while the older ones went behind our backs to steal our food

Fun fact: because of the mongoose's ability to handle snakes, other borrowing animals like ground squirrels occasionally party up with them. The ground squirrels can make better burrows for both animals to live in, and the mongoose can handle their biggest opp outside of raptors.

the intro jingle TierZoo uses was a beloved part of my childhood.
we only had 3 channels on the TV back then, but once of twice a year, we would hop in the car for 10 hours to go to grandma and grandpas house, and he, he had satelite TV.

i think it was on national geographic, but for the life of me, i cant recall the name of the show.
so that annoys me :)

EDIT - Turns out Meerkats are a kind of Mongoose, and I am a doofus.

FYI, The Mongoose is the closest relative of the Hyena, period. Both Herpestoids, Mongoose and Hyena about as close as Humans are to Gorillas.
Civets are the next closest (about as close to either of them as Humans are to like, Orangutans), and after that it opens way up and like half the Feliforms are there including the Feilds/Cats.

i've spoken to loads of mongoose mains and thy all say the plural of mongoose is "mongeese"
