This is why alcohol is just as dangerous as drugs, yet it's legal. You completely lose yourself and it can become deadly. Being cool trying to prove yourself in a Frat House at any college is never worth your life. Just say No and stay firm. RIP to young man and condolence to the family

Underage drinking is illegal the fraternity is liable for this child's death.

I will never forget when a floor mate in college came to my dorm after a night of pledge activities. The frat made 12 pledges drink 6 handles of vodka in one night. If anyone puked they were out and those who were left had to finish the bottles. Those who hadn’t puked early on were stuck drinking over half a bottle each. So unnecessary and dangerous.

I will never understand the need to humiliate one's self to prove that you fit in to someone else's definition of what you should be. What is the point? It's such a waste of time. Prove your loyalty in other ways. People like this are not your friends.

Finding out that a loved one has passed while driving is the absolute worst. Freshman year in college my 3 best friends were involved in a car accident & only 1 survived. I found out while riding to my parents house, an hour away. That car ride was excruciating. I curled up in my dad's lap & sobbed like a baby when I finally arrived. Loosing someone is hard, but the aftermath of their death & what happens immediately thereafter leaves a lasting impact. It can truly impact the grieving process. I'm so sorry for this family's loss.

As a recent UK graduate, his story will forever break my heart. The things I have heard on campus regarding hazing in fraternities during my 3.5 years there was absolutely ridiculous. The members of these Greek houses need to be held accountable, and harsher punishment needs to be taken on not only this fraternity, but all the other ones who do the exact same things but don’t get caught. Sending so much love to this young man’s family during this incredibly rough time.

So sorry for the family. This should be a warning for all parents —- if your child tells you they have to drink a drink called “4-Loco” you immediately tell that kid to get out of that Frat and even that school.

why is this still going on in these fraternity? If charges are laid, maybe this will prevent some members to think twice before engaging in this kind of behavior. Peer pressure is dangerous and so is stupidity.

I still can't believe fraternities and sororities are still a thing after all the hazing deaths that have happened. Like, why do we need them?

What a nightmare for the parents! Why does this keep happening? This was an issue when I went to college and I graduated in 1990!

The school I'm currently attending is completely against hazing. They will not allow it. When we first get into a sorority or fraternity here we have to sign a form saying that our campus is against hazing, and that we will not tolerate it on our campus.

I am so sorry for the loss of this young man. I would never encourage or support my child joining a sorority or fraternity, they are more trouble than their worth.

Who provided the alcohol, they need to be charged and held accountable for his death, they provided a deadly amount of alcohol to a minor, then carried him to bed and left him alone to die .
Whoever was in charge of the house where it happened also needs to be charged .

At that age fraternities are brewing sociopathic behavior. They are still kids and when it comes to social behavior things go from 0_100 real quick. But instead of being closely monitored these kids, are given the freedoms of adults. Think about what it had to take to make this all possible.

So sad... Its scary when you send your children off on their own for the first time and you have to have faith that they'll be okay and then something like this happens... its just sad.

Dear parents: the system will not change! Your kids are TOO YOUNG to understand what is being done in the fraternity/sorority houses.

I was kicked out of a sorority and I wear that as a badge of pride! Hypocritical behaviour, alcohol abusing, mind control/hazing NORMS.

SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF ALL THE KIDS. IT'S CRIMINAL.

I’m sorry for their loss, but when will parents ALLOW their children to take responsibility for their actions and that they should count up the consequence of every actions
