Shopping List:
4 cups day old cornbread (or store bought cornbread crumbs)
1/2 bag Pepperidge Farms White Bread Stuffing Mix
2lbs Jimmy Dean Breakfast or Sage Sausage
2 tsps better than bouillon chicken base
1 yellow onion - diced
3-4 stalks of celery - diced
4 cups stock (homemade preferably)
3 eggs
1/2 cup chopped parsley
fresh sage (3-4 leaves diced)
rosemary and thyme
1 tbsp italian herbs paste
3 cloves minced garlic
salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, italian seasoning

Directions:
In large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add sausage and crumble with spoon or spatula. Cook until no longer pink. (6-8 minutes)
2. Next, Add 1 tbsp chicken base and stir to combine. Then add diced veggies, garlic paste, and fresh herbs. Mix to combine ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Cook until veggies are tender (8-10 minutes)
3. Add most of your chicken stock and turn the heat off. (reserve 1/2 cup or so to thin the mixture later as needed)
4. Add your bread crumbs. It will seem like a lot at first but the bread will begin to absorb the moisture. Fold this together and then taste one last time before adding eggs. Once the stuffing has the flavor you want, whisk your eggs and add to the stuffing along with chopped parsley.
5. Spray casserole or baking dish with cooking spray and add stuffing to it. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until browned on top and registers at least 150 degrees internal temp

Hello subscribers..I wish to provide an honest update. I made his recipe yesterday for my family and it was a 10 out of 10. I increased the amount to accommodate my crowd and everyone..I mean everyone loved it. I consider myself a pretty good cook but it never hurts to step outside the box and try different recipes. Wow! so good

I have used sausage and chicken livers in my stuffing/dressing for decades. I only use cornbread. I'm glad someone else used sausage.

My family calls it dressing since it doesn't go in the bird.
Love that there are so many versions of dressing/stuffing.
My family doesn't use cornbread. We use dried out white bread. We make the dressing the way my grandmother made it. Nothing fancy on the seasonings. But it's so good! So I make it the way she did.
My ex mother-in-law made an out of this world oyster dressing. It had pecans, mushrooms and all kinds of good things!
I'm sure everyone's dressing/stuffing is good!

This is the stuffing recipe I grew up on and that I now make in my own kitchen. The only difference is I cook up a good size package of mushrooms to go in as well. Everybody always loves my stuffing.

My sweet momma, rest her soul, used to make this! My favorite! Heartbreakingly this will be our 1st holiday without her! Loved helping her make this dish! You can call it stuffing or dressing! I call it love ❤️

I don't think I've ever had a Thanksgiving without dressing. It's one of my top 3 dishes along with Mac n cheese and candied yams

I’m choosing me this year and ordered every dish except the salad from the local grocery store. One of the dishes is the cornbread and sausage dressing :-). Time to finally enjoy Thanksgiving.

Cornbread sausage dressing is a must have..my mom passed in 2009, and I had to take over the reins..we only have this for Thanksgiving. My kids expect it every year. This is our family tradition ❤️

It’s called dressing in our house. I use my moms recipe that calls for drippings from the turkey, and the gizzards and giblets chopped up. We make our own broth using the gizzards and giblets, and yep gotta have that cornbread in it. The dressing, smothered in turkey gravy is my favorite dish. ☺️

I'm a stuffing girl. Making "stuffin muffins" with sausage and oyster this weekend! It's a Chesapeake Bay tradition! :) YUM! Happy Thanksgiving all! 🦃

Tried this yesterday and loved it; a big hit! Using two breads gave it body and texture.
A couple of modifications: 1. I made the broth with the better than bullion as opposed to using it as an extra seasoning; 2. I would make 6 cups and have too much rather than not enough; I used Pepperidge Farms cornbread stuffing and made the cubes drying out a sourdough loaf, I think the fresh bread bought a little something extra; 3. More sage!; 4. a Stick and a half of butter. I think everyone's kitchen varries, so more is better than not enough. The extra butter gave the dish the right feel before the cubes were added....IDK....
Making it in the Dutch oven is SO much easier! Also, 'tasting it before the eggs', great tip.
This is my new recipe, thank you!

Stuffing is stuffed inside the bird. Dressing is baked in a dish. It's all good to me. 😋 I always put chicken in mine, but I have to try this way. Mr. Make it Happen, you have never let me down. 💯💥
