Wow. Used to do this at Mission Bay Beach when i lived in San Diego 40yrs ago. Used to get them kites so high they looked as small as a thumb tack in the sky. Then bring them back down to about 50 yards and dog fight them until the couldnt fly no matter how much scotch tape you used to repair all the rips. Great times.

We did that with those mylar kites up at Minot AFB ! They sent up the fighter intersection squadron thinking that blips on the radar was someone invading the airspace over the base ! Until they figured it out and made us take them down ! It was a blast doing it too ! Lol

Love flying kites as a boy and as an adult.. My 3 boys do the same to this day, we sit an laugh about all the line I would have out on a flight.. Lol.. Great family fun, they will never forget!
