Isn’t it weird how once the internet was a place to get away from the world. Now the world is a place to get away from the internet.

I've been a car enthusiast for the past 20 years. I've learned to just appreciate what I have, which is a beat out 06 mustang gt and another 99. I invested in myself and can fix just about everything on it. That's how you achieve happiness as a car guy. Good video, wish you guys the best.

He got me when he said, "you can spend 100k on a Lambo, but is it even turbo?" That right there put it all in perspective, you can spend any amount of money on car and someone will try to find a way to bring you down. They wouldn't understand how hard I had to work for what I have.

I recently inherited my dad's car. He died from cancer 3 weeks ago and he had a 1989 Renault 12. It's by no means a sports car, but he bought it for dirt cheap after being parked in an old garage for over a decade (I'm new to car stuff, but is this considered a barn find?)

He spent 4 years fixing it, making it run and even painted it. This year my dad came home extremely happy saying it passed the technical test it needs for it to be legal to drive in the streets. The car is far from perfect still and soon I'll have the paperwork so it's finally mine, and I expect to finish it up and have it like my dad wanted it :)

I won't do anything crazy to it. I live in Argentina and don't have the kind of money needed for that, but I will enjoy fixing up this car with my friend and will be very happy once I'm done.

My dad wanted me to have the car and sell it as a classic when enough time passed, maybe it's too common to be a classic but we'll see.

I miss my dad.

PSA: Don't buy a car for anyone but yourself.

Edit. Thankful for all the considered, wonderful replies to this. I love you all xoxo

In October I turned 30 and all I wanted to do was go for a drive for my birthday.. No cameras, no social media, no anything. I had friends ask "where's your camera stuff? Aren't you going to film?"

My response was "I literally never get to enjoy my actual project cars all by myself and not for the camera. " It's a thought that is rare nowadays as a Youtuber in the auto world. Great work my friends.

Thank you for making this video. I always dreamed that I could drift. I saved up and bought a 350z and sure enough, I could actually do it. But it was kind of like meeting a hero. We began to take it more seriously. We rushed to make it to events and my car was never working right. It took the joy out of it. Someday I want to compete. But I want it to be because I’m at the track to enjoy drifting, and it just so happens to be in a competitive environment. For now I sim race. Awaiting my return behind the wheel of a real car.

Extremely well-put together.

It is funny enough a vicious circle and both the content consumers and content creators are the victim of the social media drive.

Do what makes you happy when it comes to cars. If it's making other people happy in the process, then that's a nice bonus.

Great video this.

I'm super fortunate to be able to own my dream car, an R32 GTR. Outside a couple of videos, I've made an effort to keep it off YouTube because everyone has their own opinion on what it should/shouldn't be and they all disagree with each other. The best moments I have in the car are (as you said) when I go out for a drive with no cameras, phone on silent and just enjoy what the car means to me.

Also regarding "MUST DO THE BIG BUILDS". This is kinda the reason why I've never tried to do my own content with irl cars. I know the majority of my audience doesn't care about me cleaning up an old MX5, so it stops be from doing the content that I'd like + more importantly, the car doesn't get worked on. It's a balance that I think every video creator/social media nerd struggles to get right.

This isn’t just any ordinary video YouTube recommended to me, it’s more of a life lesson.
