When was the last time you cleaned out your spice drawer?

Quick tip for deodorizing drawers and cabinets. Use a coffee filter and put 1/4c baking soda in the center, and tie off with a string or rubber band. The filter will keep it from sifting out, but can breath and allow the deodorizing to happen! For non-food areas, you can add a drop or two of easential oil for a littlw scent :)

We've learned over the years to buy smaller quantities to be less wasteful when it's time to toss something.
Any advice on getting the built-up grease off of the kitchen cabinets in our rental home? I'm guessing the previous tenants rarely cleaned them (builder grade wood with laminate trim) and no matter what I've tried I can't remove that sticky residue. 🤮😭😭😭

Not the dry mustard! 😂It's so versatile. It took me a few years to catch on to its potential. Our spices are stored on a carousel. But, yeah, it has been a minute since that shelf was cleared out and cleaned.

I clean my spice drawer probably twice a year because I don't have enough jars and I buy spices in packets that shower everything in a fine layer of spice.

How would you deal with really caked on built up grease on fake wood cabinet doors? I've tried Murphys, steam, vinegar & dish soap, but nothing has worked so far.

I label my spice jars with the expiration date and are pretty good with that. My oldest spice is cashmiri chili powder which expired in 2017. I still use it since now it's lost quite a bit of heat. In general I don't like ground spices or blends. I have the essentials and can grind and mix accordingly. That way the aroma is more intense

I label the expiration date on all condiments, herbs, canned goods, vitamins, etc. the day I buy them and put them away in the cabinet by date.

Evidently Cream of Tartar doesn’t go bad. I have some that’s at least 2 generations old.
