Tourette Syndrome Controlled by Deep Brain Stimulation Procedure

Adam suffered from Tourette Syndrome. He was tired of living with everyday tics so he researched deep brain stimulation (DBS). DBS implants electrodes in the brain releasing electrical impulses to regulate abnormal impulses. Once Adam was able to get comfortable with having the surgery, he came to University Hospitals to have the device implanted in his brain.
