Directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by David Scarpa, “Napoleon” stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader. The film is an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine, played by Vanessa Kirby. The film captures Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary. An Apple Studios production in conjunction with Scott Free Productions, “Napoleon” is produced by Scott, Kevin Walsh, Mark Huffam and Phoenix, with Michael Pruss and Aidan Elliott serving as executive producers.

Ridley Scott, I loved this film it was defiantly breath taking and amazing the only thing I disagree is when the invasion of Russia I felt it was more rushed and the weird Napoleon moments I just wish he were more determined and focused more on his career and eventually checked on Joesphine but more of just him you know like him drawing and studying his plans and actually acted that way in the movie but other was I think it was very well done so thank you. I also loved the battle scenes like Toulon and Austerlitz and of cores Waterloo well done.

The Real Reason Napoleon Had So Many Victories is He Had A Better Award Winning Marching Band Forward Mars That Struck Fear into the opposing armies' marching bands who Dared to challenge, His Band Greater To Even u.s.'s flute & drum corps

Wonderful movie. Excellent filming and acting. Maybe one hour longer to get into the deep of the battles and other achievements Napoleon made during his reign (continental measures, law, family names etc)

From a historical point of view, it is very distorted and inaccurate. There are a lot of wrong points. The film is not historical, but rather political. Firstly, Napoleon was manipulated by the British and attacked Russia at their behest. Russia gave no reason to attack itself. Secondly, the capital of Russia was then in St. Petersburg, and Moscow was just a regional center, there was no emperor's palace, Napoleon did not reach the capital and suffered a serious defeat at Borodino. After this defeat, Napoleon fled Russia. And the Russian winter aggravated his retreat. And there are a lot of such moments in the film
