Napoleon is almost undepeatable in battle, until he lost 500k man in Russia due to the russian guerilla warfare and scorch to earth tactics and winter, The russians didnt even face Napoleon in an actual manuever battle bec they knew they have no chance against him, He won 90% of his battle. The greatest military tactician in history.. Respect to the last emperor of France.... 😮

They don't need to put songs from artists to sell the trailer or film just have something epic to go along with the trailer 🙄

Napoleon? An attempt to compress the dramatic history of his entire life into a single film of 2h 38 mins duration? That's impossibly bizarre. Overly ambitious. Ridiculous. An affront to historical reality. Don't waste my time. They could have been more respectful and made at least a nine hour trilogy out of him. What is feasible are epic films of single events like the Great Siege of Malta 1565. Now that would indeed be an emotive, impassioned, drama requiring very little scene and script writing embellishment.

It just isnt working, 1970 Waterloo had the perfect man playing Napoleon.

This Napoleon just doesnt have the commanding tone of voice for such a strong figure of history as was Napoleon.

This is the most overblown trailer for a movie I've seen. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Napoleon Bonaparte French? If that's so, why isn't a French actor playing him and not Joaquin Phoenix and his American accent? I'm sure a lot of people have seen this thing by now but based on this bombastic trailer, I figure it best to stay away from it.

Unfortunately, a DISAPPOINTMENT! I was really looking forward to seeing this film in the cinema. Directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator, 2001), and a historical film at that!

For me, the film was a series of unrelated events. No proper story, as if they had filmed the Wikipedia entry on Napoleon. From one scene to another, 5 years were casually skipped. Even Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon seemed very worn out and tired. I don't think that was part of Napoleon's personality, as J. Phoenix behaved that way in every scene, and the film covers a period of 25 years of his life.

The set design and costumes were very well done. At some points, it was visually stunning and beautiful to watch. Perhaps more suitable for the American audience after all...
