I guess I consider this my old school being 40. This was magical back in the day because pound for pound there were nothing but hits during the 80’s and 90’s with R&B.

I was friends with these guys back in the day. Three of them (Carl, Marc, Darnell) were frat brothers (Alpha Phi Alpha), and Garfield (the tall guy with the deeper voice) was a fellow classmate of theirs at Howard University. We all met in Beverly Hills - in a club that used to be in the Beverly Center Mall - before this single came out, and I was actually in the studio when they recorded "Baby I'm Yours" (I was kinda dating Garfield at the time, but that didn't last long lol.) I'm happy to say that he wasn't putting all of his eggs in the showbiz basket. Garfield now has his PhD and is a college professor... and we're still cool 🙂.
