How To Install Minecraft Data Packs (Minecraft Java Mac OS X)

This video will explain how to install Minecraft data packs on Mac OS.

Minecraft gives players a way to customise their Minecraft worlds. Datapacks allow players to override and/or add new advancements, dimensions, functions, loot tables, predicates, recipes, structures, tags, world generation settings and biomes without any code modification.

Minecraft Data Packs are essentially mini Minecraft mods or modpacks that are very easy to download, install and use.

Download a data pack, unzip the datapack folder and then place the folder onto your Desktop.
Launch Minecraft.

Select the World you want to install the data pack into, select Edit and then select Open World Folder.
Open the datapacks folder and place the data pack folder that is on your Desktop into the Minecraft datapacks folder.
Go back to Minecraft, select Save and then launch the world.
In your Minecraft world type /datapack list.
Installation complete!

Datappack commands:
/datapack list" - to view all loaded data packs
/datapack enable name first¦last" - to enable to data pack.

So I've put some vanilla tweaks data packs into the data pack folder and the game recognizes it but each data pack appears grey in the chat (every video I've seen, they appear green) when I use /datapacks list. It says all my data packs are enabled but won't actually happen in the game. Do you know why that might be?

Hello, I use mac and i downloaded the exact data pack. i got a folder so i compressed it to a zip then opened it with Archive Utility. I did it and i opened the world folder went to the data pack folder placed it in. I went in the world and i did /datapack list and it said it was working, tried it and it didn't, after that i reloaded it and it till didn't work. Do you know how to fix this problem? Or is it about the version fault? cause i'm using 1.16.1 and its for 1.16 it said. Thank you, Enjoy your day.
