Holy crap, if Duplantis ever put in a half effort in the decathlon, he could be up there. Easily the most technical event in decathlon is pole vault. He'd score 2000+ points in that event alone and could cruise some other events. With speed like that, long jump, 110 hurdles, 400m would be a cake walk. High jump would be nothing with that speed and body awareness from pole vault. he could just do a bit of work in shot and javelin and voila, you have a top ranked decathlete right there. Because like I said, His pole vault would net him such huge points he could go light on the throws and still win.
