I have just found your channel and love your techniques. I noticed that you haven’t post a new vid in a year. I am hoping you are well and just busy. Thank you for what you have shared. ❤️

Great video, brands make a huge difference. The ink tests I have completed using my fav brand, mixed with a great resin have held their colour the same, I have had mine outside now for 12 weeks with no noticeable fading. Thanks for sharing :)

This helps tremendously, will keep in mind those 3 factors. I only started working with resin a year ago, & the only set that I had an issue with colors fading was when I dropped alcohol ink in directly & didn't top coat. They also unintentionally had direct sunlight coming through the window on them that first week (we were at a different place then). Your coasters are so very beautiful & tutorials are greatly appreciated! 💞🙏🙂👍👏👏👏

Can I ask what you put on these coasters that stop them from sliding? Really gorgeous work band I love how your Kitty wants to help 😊

Hey these are so cool. They remind me of giant lollypops. I see your addicted. Have you ever added LED behind them? They are mesmerizing. I got 2 kits from Amazon with heaps of pigment, but have only made dioramas, lakes etc - Now I know what to do with them all. Cheers. Cute Moggie too.

Interesting. Steve Mcdonald from Steve Mcdonald's arts and crafts did a video of the same thing, coasters that he made with alcohol ink, and stored one in a bag in a dark closet, and one out, and the difference was amazing! You two should talk! lol

Thank you! I really love alcohol inks, but I was hesitant because I've heard it fades.

I did wonder if brand of alcohol ink mattered too but think you use a mixture, it's funny how some pieces I've done fade and others don't at all.

I have recently began doing things like coasters and such with resin, and am very thankful for the videos you have made. They are fun to watch and give lots of good information.
I do have one question.... how do you keep cat hair out of your projects? Between the actual fur, and then the super fine fuzz they leave Everywhere, I am going crazy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Were these exposed to the sun from windows or outside? Which brand alcohol inks? Sweet kitty! Thanks.

I had coasters my daughter put outside in direct sunlight, and the purple/pink faded that day to orange. It was crazy. But they were not flood coated, not counter top resin, but I also wondered if it was the ink. A few hours seemed a bit extreme to fade.

I'm new at resin art. I consider my art somewhat "disposable." Sure it's fun and I want to do a good job but I don't consider my work timeless or anything. It makes for a thoughtful gift, you have it around for a while, then it gives way to the next thing. So if the color fades over time, I'm not all that worried about it.

If anything I would think that heat would affect the colour. Over time.

Alcohol inks do fade.. BUT.. it depends which brand you use, also, resin changes colour which also effects the look if the inks..
I've been working with resin for 15 years and it truly makes me cringe when I see people using certain brands 😬
I bought samples of some and left them for 6 months on a window ledge.. some were yellowing within days!!!
