I think it’s interesting that you saw Multiple surviving sanctuaries and farm structures. Obviously that always existed in spawn and the surrounding area. But they used to be big communal megastructures like the Valley of wheat that served many but didn’t last long, these modern sanctuaries seem more localised and designed for smaller numbers of visitors. This might let them survive griefs, because instead of being on the highways they just sit in random areas that players can stumble upon.

Imagine joining 2b2t for the first time without knowing anything about It, and then, when you finally manage to join, you suddenly see a massive layer of obsidian covering a Humongous area, with lavacasts and explosion damage in every single direction, It would be like the reaction of the first Colonizers when arriving in the Americas of how perplexed you'd be left lmfao
