Every video of yours is a lesson in history or the technology that keeps the canal system running smoothly. Thanks from Missouri!

What a coincidence, I watched a similar piece on TV last night in a documentary about the Liverpool to Leeds canal. Funny thing is your film was more informative, much funnier and better quality. Exceptionally well done guys.

Fascinating. I'd love to see the whole process from the beginning ; how they drain each section of the canal, remove and replace gates etc.

Outstanding video, as a welder I'm always fascinated how other craftsmen go about doing what they do! Well done!

This video was great! Really helped to understand the door design. These are so sophisticated for something designed almost 3 centuries ago. The engineering is truly amazing. Thank you. 🌺🌸

A big "Thank You" from the western side of The Pond.
We have nothing comparable to your narrowboats or public system of canals for simply touring around the country.
You have provided a massive amount of information for what looks to be a very interesting lifestyle [I was an unscheduled early retirement, and you can guess how appealing it looks for keeping active and diverted].

This is absolutely fascinating and informative. I didn't realize there were two facilities where the gates are manufactured of good old English oak. I'm glad three seedlings are grown for each tree taken. Knowing the history of the machines that drill out the planks is cool. Thank you for sharing this with us! Take care guys.

This was fun and interesting to watch. I am fascinated by the British canals and lock system, and this presentation of how they make the replacement gates is tops, professional. Keep up the great work!

I’m not sure what fascinates me more about narrowboats and the canals. The history of it all or the idyllic nature of the whole thing.

Either way thanks so much for posting this! And I love the outtakes LOL

Many thanks for doing this vid boys. As an ex joiner I found this totally fasinating. I've repaired fairground rides but not tried lck gates. All that oak mmmm I can smell it now, it was my favourite timber to work with. Big thanks to CRT for allowing you in as well.
