Not because of the script, it's because his limiter was so extremely small that with basic training he broke/deleted that limiter, meaning that he can essentially gain infinite power. Damn y'all mad af. Let me explain, he essentially has infinite power because he has infinite potential, it doesn't matter if he has too much power or not, it will still be relatively infinite.
Last thing, for people that are saying that saiyans are limitless, they're not.
Let me explain, they only break their limiter so they can get another limiter that stops them from becoming stronger, and so on until they run out of transformations. In the case of saitama, you could say he's constantly breaking his limiter because he's constantly becoming stronger. So yeah, saiyans are not limitless they just break their limiter so they can get a new one.
