As a brit growing up watching our crazy counterparts across the pond throughout all of the ubiquitous dominance of American media, film, music and culture, the main takeaway throughout the 80s, 90s and 00s was that Americans are an insanely positive, enthusiastic, polite, cheery people, so much so that we europeans sometimes baulk at the level of it, but ultimately love and respect you for it because we see how valuable having that positivity on the world stage is. What the era of Populism as exemplified by Trump has done to the general psyche of the west is so desperately sad. That positivity was almost eroded. Almost. Watching voters either side of the divide and politicians either side of the aisle come together to say enough is enough is nothing short of miraculous. Keep going. Good luck. 💙🇺🇸💙
