MG5 Review | POV drive | Electric 157 hp Long Range | 2023

This is my review of the 2022 MG5, the first electric station wagon (estate). I take a look at the exterior and interior of the MG and go for a drive (POV).

I have the ZSEV Long Range and that clicking sound is the heater element switching on and off using PWM. The indicator noise can be turned down in the settings using the volume slider for notifications.

Ohh, almost forgot one question: There should be a manual battery precondition function. Can you confirm that from your sightings of the GUI?

I would much rather prefer this kind of automobile review rather than other channels constantly blabering about what you can already see on the screen. Belgium is a beautiful country

Thank you for the review the new mg5 is a big step forward lovely color interior is much improved and seems to have very decent acceleration
The price is pretty good for electric car not like others that are very expensive

The boot floor & the lack of room for the feet of the rear passengers were the main problems on all previous versions of this car. I’m staggered that MG have have not solved these issues, because they are often mentioned by reviewers & owners of the car. Shame: could be a great car🥹

A suggestion: mention where the airbags are! From what I understand, the MG5 lacks side airbags in the back seat (my cheap ass Skoda from 2012 has that...)

This or the Aiways U5? The U5 can be bought used (here in Scandinavia) for a few grand less than this with very few KM on it. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Thank you for your informative review.Did you feel some gentle force "behind" the gas pedal? If so, the pedal might execute a force feedback safety check if you are still actively pressing the pedal (=instead of laying up your foot lightly when being unconscious.) Have you tested the turning circle?

Sadly MG didn`t put same infotaiment in all their cars. I have ZS and its very basic and much slower than in MG5 or their EV cars. But it`s entry level car...
