Social workers who look after children's interests in the family courts are being given new guidelines this autumn, to help in cases where a child refuses to see a parent.

Totally agree with most of the top comments on this video, this has been happening to men for years and being disguised as the man "not wanting to be involved" or "abandoning the family". I know as I have been through this myself. A lot needs to be done about the way its all handled. BOTH parents deserve to be in a child's life except in PROVEN extreme circumstances.

I've known so many many men who have endured this Terrible dilemma including myself. Only know of one woman. From personal experience and that of others, the so-called family courts will only enforce the payment of Child Support, not the relationship of the children with the father. And yet we often hear about how terrible it is for children to grow up in fatherless homes. We would certainly be there, if only the courts were not standing in our way! There are good and bad parents of both gender, so they should not discriminate for one against the other.

If this had been a man's story, you'd only need to look in the next cubicle at work. I always think you cannot surprise me any longer but here you are, again, surprising me by how biased and shameful you truly are.

If that woman has no access to her kids, I bet there is a damn good reason for it. For me, all I have to be is a man no longer wanted by my lass and my life is ruined, made homeless, no kids, no job but if I do manage to get or keep a job, all my money goes to the woman and I am forced to live like a student in Bedsit accommedation but without the money to spend to feed myself.

Happens to fathers more than mothers. Very sad that inhumane people can do this to other parent. This is child abuse whether it's done by mother or father.

Sorry but I’m a farther, and it’s unbelievable how the system is rigged in favour of the mothers, I’m not denying their struggle but it’s definitely few and far between compared to what dads endure with this outdated system we currently have👎🏻

I am sorry but how has this happened... Women almost always win the rights to look after the children for the majority of the time, unless something is terribly wrong with her. Maybe this person is fine. But chances are that they have done something to create this situation. I know a guy who's wife is an alcoholic she would abandon the toddler for hours at home sometimes even days and he would come and collect the child and not find her anywhere when he got to see the toddler for the weekend or something. It has taken him roughly two years to finally stop her from being allowed to 'look after' their son.

I've disliked this video because it is extremely rare for it to be a woman experiencing this why did you chose a woman!!!! to describe a common divorce experienced by men like it doesn't make any difference? the stats are probably more than 99% against men on this.

This is all emotion and zero facts or context. This is literally one woman's account with zero other information. We have no idea what she was like with her children, we have no idea what the father was like, we have no idea if the children actually dislike her for real reasons or if they have just been mind washed. This isn't journalism this isn't even an opinion piece. This is literally just how one person feels about a situation we have no knowledge of. She could be an abusive partner or he could be cult leader for all we know

Great to see this issue finally getting some attention but this "living hell" is far more likely to happen to a father than a mother due to the sexist courts. #FemalePrivilege
