Nice little follow-up for Tentacle too! It figures Win16 viruses can still do stuff in 32-bit Windows -- though I imagine how much depends on what they're trying to do, and how they're doing it. Does Tentacle still do anything in XP, or in 32-bit versions of Vista or 7 or 10?

I've been watching your videos for quite some times (damn, it's been like what, some 10 years or something? time flies, man), and I wanted to just leave a little comment to thank you. I was interested in malware even before I found your channel but your videos made my interest in them grow to a ridiculous degree. I'm actually in the middle of writing my thesis right now, the topic being the history of malware and its usage of language (with focus on email worms); if it hadn't been for me finding your videos back in middle school, I would probably be doing something else entirely right now, which is pretty weird to think about. Get well soon Buster! Looks like winver just used its own icon to display to save space in the exec. Would probably have just been better to load the windows icon from shell32, which would also have the nice side effect of allowing it to display the latest version of the icon. Ah well, it makes for a funny little effect, and you can't expect too much out of win9x anyway lol
