Someone reached out and after nailing his interview thanks to this episode, wanted to know if I had any pointers for nailing the trial shift. So I put down my thoughts on how I think you can make the most from your first day or your trial shift.

Be proactive. If the manager tells you to do something once, the 2nd time do it on your initiative. If people correct you on something, follow their advice

i have bad social anxiety and interviews etc are so far out of my comfort zone that i’ve never even put myself out there before, but i’ve recently graduated my degree and applied to a bunch of hospitality jobs to tide me over this summer til i start my masters, and i’ve landed an interview and trial shift this week !! i am SO so nervous - i have no idea what to expect and i’m scared my anxiety will hold me back from being proactive and taking initiative, but i really want to challenge myself and land this job! any advice?
