DIY Venetian Plaster… is it worth the $$$?

For a living room or area that has low humidity, i agree with the drywall mud. The difference with venetian plaster is that it is mineral based and is mold resistant and can be applied in high humidity areas such as bathrooms and outside. It does need to be sealed but that is the difference and where the value is for the price difference
