Miraculous! Four Colombian children found alive in jungle, six weeks after plane crash

In a miraculous turn of events, weeks after the Columbian plane crash, four children were found alive after 40 days. The siblings were rescued by the military near the border between Colombia's Caqueta and Guaviare provinces. The president of Columbia Gustavo Petro informed about the children’s rescue from Amazon Forest on June 10. A Cessna 206 plane, carrying 7 passengers crashed between route of Araracuara, in Amazonas province, and San Jose del Guaviare on May 1. The plane experienced an engine failure following which it lost control and crashed into Amazon forest. Three adults, including the pilot and children's mother Magdalena Mucutuy, died in the mishap. Rescuers, supported by search dogs, had previously found discarded fruit the children ate to survive, as well as improvised shelters made with jungle vegetation. Airplanes and helicopters from Colombia's army and air force participated in the rescue operations.
