Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut - Reapers Win (Secret Ending) - Full Paragon

This is the ending in the extended cut where the Reapers essentially win. However, what you will find out in the video is that Shepard's sacrifice was not made in vain.

If you recall the video Liara makes with you, that is actually the key to destroy the Reapers permanently, but through another civilization entirely.

why would anyone in their right mind actually choose this ending? unless of course your just playing it again and you want to see all of them or something but choosing this ending kinda defeats everything you've been doing in the series so far. If I was a human, asari, turian, any race in the galaxy I'd be pissed at Shepard lol

This is it...my first ending, which devastated me in real life. But I think it's the best one. It's reflecting reality - sometimes you fight so hard for something but in the end, there are consequences you can't affect. Life aren't those Hollywood happy endings we are use to watch every day in TV...life is life, and sometimes it doesn't ends well

bro, I got all the way to the end and was walking towards the synthesis option when I decided (as a joke) to turn around and bust a shot at the reaper AI leading to this ending. I am beside myself. I have shot at allies and NPCs all 3 games and only at the end did it matter 🤦🏾‍♂️

It's actually a beautiful and tragic ending. The galaxy would not have fully recovered from this war and coexistence with the Reapers would be impossible. It makes sense that "we" lose and give the next cycle a better fighting chance.

How terrifying it would be for that next cycle... Yeah, we basically came together as one united front... all of our war assets available...and we still lost. Good luck though lmao. What would make it even more brutal is having the human reaper be the vanguard, the Sovereign of this cycle

While this ending basically says everything Shepard and the rest fought for turned out in vain, it’s strangely interesting to see how the reapers could be potentially unstoppable (even though the difference is just shooting an AI...)

It should've been a pyrrhic victory if you managed to get near maximum war support by the end.

I always imagine that after this the reapers kept Shepard alive to witness everyone else become indoctrinated and instead of using indoctrination on him. They turned all his closest allies against him and had them kill him.

Damn! This is a very difficult ending to experience. Glad I chose the "control" ending. Wasn't too disappointed in that option.

same exact thing that happened to me lol, I was going for Control but decided to randomly shoot against the Catalyst (thought it was just like the Keepers in the previous part of the ending, when you arrive on the Citadel), just for the sake of it cause I hate that child, then *reaper voice* "So be it!", immediately went for Alt+F4 :D

I really quite like this ending. It would have been better if you could have won with rejecting the star child.

I started playing this last December (since then I've done 7 playthroughs). The first one I did, I got this ending because I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on, so in frustration, I shot the child. And then that happened lol.

For me this is the true ending. I think the reapers should have one. I kind of understand them wanting to destroy life from advancing any further. While collecting their knowledge to build a future.
