BIG YES TO DRAWERS!!!! We did this in our home and they were absolutely the best thing we did.

Definitely drawers over cabinets in the lower cabinets. Also, what I did (the contractor thought I was nuts) is to NOT have a toe kick area for areas that are not work/prep areas. It gives a great, finished built in look. Thank you Nick! I enjoy every video.

Following your advice. I’m doing a kitchen facelift. Not a complete remodel. But I’m painting my cabinets and replacing hardware. The cabinet pulls that you recommend avoiding are for sale everywhere! And I like the look. But I stayed away from them and went with something that won’t snag my clothes, especially important in a small kitchen like mine. Love your channel. Keep up the great work.

He is absolutely correct about drawers. We built a long narrow kitchen island with seating at one end and a 36" cabinet at the other. We have butt doors (no center rib between doors) and 3 pull out drawers. It holds the waffle iron, electric grill, instant pot, frying pans, sauce pans, spaghetti pots, large bowls, and collanders. It has changed our lives.

I the trendy T shaped handles and knobs because of the snagging.

Huge yes to the drawers! My husband just converted an unweildy deep awful cupboards to 3 perfect drawers for pots, pans, and lids. So simple but had made my life soooo much easier!

I added pull-out drawers in my lower cabinets. Very easy to put them in (2 or 3 screws) and they make your space so much more efficient.

Mostly I agree. But I will say that I just moved to a house that has almost all drawers in the kitchen and they are so oddly sized. They're too deep and cavernous for spices but too shallow for tall olive oil and vinegar bottles. So some cabinets are still really useful around the stove area.

These are also handy when looking for a new rental home 😂 I so far have also: Check outlets. Yes, you can use extension cords but it does not look cute if you need to have multiple in all rooms and three on kitchen counter. Also check sealing. Light switches!! I had one where all switches were on the side where the door opened and next to it, so you needed to step into the dark room to reach them, not fun for someone who's kinda afraid of the dark. And how high/low the counter tops are. Our bathroom sink is so low it's giving me backache

Those T shaped handles also grab the vacuum cleaner cord and snag me up. Brings my cleaning to abrupt halt whilst I backtrack to find the snag UGH. But at least I have lots of kitchen drawers which makes life easier for sure! If it’s beneath the counter, make it a drawer, not a cabinet, amen.

I love having drawers in most of my bottom cabinet and considering replacing the shelves in the cabinet without them.

I 100% agree about the drawers in the lower cabinets, but ixnay on the big pendants vs. smaller ones.

I was following along to see where you were going but the small gold ones were so attractive, while the larger ones were just "blah." It's like you undermined your own argument with the examples you used.
