Rental karting sucks... but here's how I fixed it

I fixed arrive and drive rental karting sessions by changing the rules of the race... These sessions are almost always hot lapping sessions, but they are pointless if you're constantly in bumper to bumper traffic. So to spice it up, my former F3 teammate, Nazim, and I decided to turn it into an overtaking challenge. Whoever could score the most points by overtaking traffic across two sessions won the day. We each had over 60 overtakes in the heats, so be sure to check out the full vid on my YT to find out who won!

this is why teamsport members events are usually so nice, a nice usually high skill session to race in and push as hard as possible

The karting place you go to makes a huge difference in terms of how disruptive bad drivers can be. Some tracks are easier to pass on, but also some places have better rules and enforcement policies. I raced with my dad every week for a decade at our home track and we both had some of our worst crashes (my worst ever, his second worst) in the same session at a track we had never been to before because they didn’t punish another driver for intentionally putting people into walls. When made change from indoor karting to outside was interesting ! Took about 4 races to realize the super aggressive driving indoors did not work outside ! I was lucky and had a good indoor track with Canadian winters ! Got the best racing education a washed up never was could get ! All our locals racers taught me alot ! The scary part is more of a track marshal now than racer ! Have a easy 200 laps of track inspection walks . Laps done over last 19 years is alot 😁🏁. Poor me got stuck testing Karts for a Enduro . Drove by feel and was never told lap times so could not kart pick for the race and finished 2nd !! Glad to be a guy who has been a mechanic and track marshal while wearing race suit . The last time worked and raced on same day the 54 year old me not as in good shape as me in my 40's ! In 08 was my debut for A+D outdoors and finished 4th . Won 2 championships a 2nd then rest was 3rd places 😁🏁 Hey what can I say I love karting !!! race 1 of this year started off with a 2nd and race 2 is this Sunday

Yess this is such a great idea. I tend to have more fun when there is a lot of slow riders bc just trying to overtake as much as I can is super fun.

Did this at amp and asked to start from the back. It felt like I just did a crazy recovery drive !

When i go karting with my brother or sister we always aim to go for quali laps rather then racing. It means we cant blame the other for not getting the best laptime we possibly can. The quickest normally gets to go infront on our warmup lap
