2025 Aston Martin Vanquish review | More powerful than a Ferrari 12Cilindri

Показать описание
The Aston Martin Vanquish is another brand-new, V12-powered, front-engined exotic super-GT - coming just weeks after the Ferrari 12Cilindri.

It swims against a swelling current of pressure to downsize, electrify and generally cut out the old-school combusting of hydrocarbons in one of motordom’s very grandest engine configurations.

The new Vanquish is very fast, and very, very powerful. With 824bhp, it's even more powerful than the Ferrari. It has a 0-62mph time of 3.3sec, a top speed of 214mph and costs a whopping £330,000.

But while power, performance and price are important, what of engagement, involvement and driving pleasure? Join Autocar's road test editor Matt Saunders as he gets under the skin of Aston's latest super-GT car.

819 bhp? How on Earth does the Ferrari even manage to move?

Ferrari makes all those horses...without turbos. I don't think they're bothered about a BHP war.

Bit of a lacklustre review tbh. Are road testers becoming so spoilt that given the keys to drive such a wonderful car they can do no more than summon the most basic of enthusiasm for it? Jeez, it's one of the last great V12 Aston's we're ever likely to get - sound a bit more interested!

AM finally making cars on the level of Ferrari. Last few models, DB12 / DBX770 / Valiant / V12 Vantage and now this, all truly special

I think there's lots of undeserved negative commentary here about Matt Saunders. And his glasses - come on 😮 It may not have the buzz of the new generation of influencers, but Matt knows what he is talking about, and I enjoyed the review and his insight. Some other comments: towards the end of the review a car is sometimes visible behind the Aston and looks like the driver is mad for an overtake😂 Also, did anyone else see the arm rest move when Matt rested his elbow on it?

I think there is a factual mistake at the start. This is not the first Vanquish with a transaxle or with the bonded aluminium construction. Even back with the 1st gen the construction techniques were analogous to today's cars. The 1st gen did have the gearbox mated to the engine but the AM310 2nd gen Vanquish, the last of the VH cars did have a transaxle.

The shape is definitely a grower. I wasn’t too keen at first but the more I see it the more I like it.

You need a better fitting pair of spectacles as these keep slipping

While there are reservations about both cars ; Ferrari = styling iffy ( especially the black accents front / rear / those raising spoilers ), the interior too tecky ( not special ). The Aston has far fewer = small boot / trunk, small fonts on screen...and that's all from reading reviews. I'd take the Aston on looks and feel food factor alone.

I enjoyed watching the video review, better than the Ferrari

So Aston made a third sporty GT that looks similar and has a pretty much identical interior with the other two...it's a total mystery why their cars aren't selling well and they're losing $1.8 million every day.

Give it the DB11 grill boom perfection

I saw Doug DeMuro say that he thought Aston should ditch their Gran Turismo identity and make a mid-engined V8 with a manual transmission. I agree with him. Astons have become too big and lumpy since the DB9.

Sorry, but I’m here to watch the car, not the guy driving it.

Thanks for the video review, but it would have been great to hear that V12 rev out.

Good automotive journalism, but nearly 7 minutes in, are you going to DRIVE it? Seriously it has an immense powertrain and apparently.soeted handling.

This guy is a coronary waiting to happen… not Aston Martins target audience…
