*UPDATE ON THE NAKAMICHI SOUND BAR:* As I mentioned in the livestream, I followed up with Nakamichi for an update on their new soundbar, the Dragon. The official response was *"...the production of DRAGON has been extremely limited. This has resulted in us taking pre-orders for the system...We have noted your interest to review DRAGON, but we currently do not have another review unit. The only review unit we had was provided to Digital Trends."*

In my opinion, based on years of conversations with Nakamichi and this last email, it is highly unlikely we will be sent this product for review. I'm not confident there will even be an opportunity for us to purchase one due to what appears to be an "extremely limited" production.

What we have learned is that AirPlay, Chromecast, custom EQ/auto-EQ all appear to be missing from the Dragon. *-At $3500-* At $3900, these seem like fairly large omissions. Hopefully the sound quality makes up for a lack of features. Nakamichi just announced a price increase following the first 1000 orders claiming unforeseen production and shipping costs.

Great Livestream! It was refreshing spending my near 3 hour evening watching and listening to this while working around the house. And I quite enjoyed the last 45 minute talk as well. Not being a thief of joy is a lesson many in this world would do well to learn! Sometimes in life we can find happiness and purpose by simply being there to support somebody else. Andrew, great stream. I too know what it feels like to lose everything. I was a product trainer for GM. Was the best job I ever had. Old boomer here. Most of us were technical trainers that started out as technicians, service mangers. When GM went thru the bankruptcy, GM decided to cut back, we older people were let go one by one. They tried remote learning way before the pandemic, which didn’t work. The final thing they did was hire actors, but they didn’t know how a feature worked, say how does hillhold lock works, etc. I’m not debasing actors, but at that time, they hired these people for a third of what we were making. I was fortunate, I lasted the longest, till 2014. Funny till this day I still have dealership personnel and GM people call me for technical information. I am retired now, but at that time I ran out of unemployment so was really broke, couldn’t find a job. Funny, but now that I’m old 68, I have more job offers then when I needed one. So, don’t think that Ai can’t replace you.

20:59 I have the 40n with Mission 770s, got a Pontus, there’s definitely an improvement to soundstage and mids, but it gets way too warm that bass loses a little of the kick.

Also tried with dual ESS 9038Pro (K9 Pro), whilst there an improvement, the difference is minor.

Hi from Australia. Purchased R700 and Cinema 50 from your recommendation. VG. Question - I have 4 in ceiling speakers. 2 x mid room and 2 x behind main listening position. Also 2 x Polk R900. Terrible acoustics in very large room. What do I call the speakers in Cinema 50 speaker config? Would the Sony 5000ES provide better EQ?
