I love how some people are scared of Waymo even though they haven’t caused any accidents. People are so blatantly unaware of how bad real people are at driving.

I think when history looks at how slowly we implemented self driving cars when hundreds died in accidents every day- mostly caused by human error- future generations will shake their heads at how much we hesitated. We can't overreact to anecdotes where the tech isn't perfect as long as the stats show, as they do now, that the self driving cars out perform human drivers on safety.

Taxi and truck drivers, may want to look for a job now. Don’t say a random stranger on the internet hasn’t forewarned you.

The way poeple talk about self driving cars now, sounds like how people talked about the internet when it was first invented

I would totally trust these vehicles over people driving any day

I rode in one. To say the car is cautious is an understatement. The car is so timid that it was being overtaken by human drivers all the time.

This is so cool love it. If this sort of thing does take over though as a disabled user I have to wonder how I would use it. Currently the driver puts my wheelchair in the boot but if there's no driver that would be a bit tricky.

Super exciting! I can't wait for self driving cars to be common place. Looks like Waymo is way ahead of the game.

perfect example, every wed for two years a cab is scheduled to pick me up at 4:10PM but yet yesterday I waited 60 minutes for a cab that never came, they finally sent lyft because no cabs were available. so with phoenix metro growing to 6 million by 2030 how many waymos does it take to go "anywhere, anytime"
