The coefficients of the quadratic should be positive in the factorisation of a difference of cubex.

I used this to factor 27x^3 + 18xy - 8y^3 + 1.

Wrong answer. It should be + x + y , not -x - y. You incorrectly factored the difference of two cubes.

Factoring of remaining 2nd degree term pls...
Is probably too complicated, if not impossible.

Why did you stop factorising? The quadratic is nicely factorable over C too.
