I have idrive 7. When my iPhone connects to Apple Car Play in my car and then I shut it off; the radio continues to play even after I open my door. Is there a way to shut everything off in the car when I open my door (like in my previous 2015 BMW) without having to depress the volume button for 3 seconds? Thank you!

Thanks for the tips and tricks. I've been with my new X5 xdrive40i for just two months. Yesterday morning when i tried to open the car, it couldn't until i used the actual key. i tried to start it and it failed. I suspected the battery was dead and indeed it was but failed to understand the cause. i jump started it and it started. However it started displaying this "Emergency call system malfunction". It displays that every after a few minutes. The navigation system too shows wrong information. How do i correct this without going back to the dealers?

recently saw a video for the i7 system where if a usb is connected with music files, the music can be downloaded to a harddrive in the car under collections. I have a 21 X7 and the collections menu  doesn't appear under media when i insert the usb drive. the music plays but i was interested in loading the music off the drive to the collections option. how do i get that menu option to come up???

Yes, question. When exiting the X5, the car "locks" automatically and alarm is set. If I want to leave my dog, or kids in the car, (Yes, precondition will be on) and not set the alarm off, is there a setting that will do that?

If you have the newer BMW Key fobs, press and hold the panic button while the vehicle is unlocked and the exterior lights will light up.

Question - if you are routing using Google maps from Android Auto and want to switch to the maps provided by BMW, how to do that? I noticed the car will stick to the Google maps and the only way is to delink Android Auto which I think is not desirable. Thanks.

Standard features, nothing hidden there. Some of them old and standard in all vehicles like since the last millennium. But I guess there are always people that can't read a manual, so for them must be all hidden ! 😂
