In the mid 90s, our school built a small pond for a swan a girl saved. The swan would follow the girl to school and wait for her till she finished. The principal then, on a weekend dug a huge hole and built a pool, with authorities permission. The swan will turn 30 next year and is still with the woman, who has 8 of them now.
