I have to admit each time I get a new bag, I use it right away! I’m like a kid! 😂 My Birkins and Kelly’s are coming with me everywhere, grocery, errands, restaurants, some travels. But for me the fun of owning these bags is to use them. So I’m a bit different, I would be sad to just look at them sitting on the shelf. We are all different and whatever makes you happy. But if one day, I’m scared to use them, I’ll let them go I think.

Fortunately, I work in a highly secured area, so I feel completely comfortable wearing my lux bags to work. My coworkers also know that lux bags are my "thing" and they don't even blink twice when I come into the office w one. They actually get excited to see which bag I'm using and will often come by my desk to see it. 🤣 I also live in a metro area where lux bags are a thing, so going to the grocery store or mall, is no biggie while wearing a LV or Chanel. I'm thankful for that because I love using all of my bags! 🥰 Thanks for your videos, Jess! I always look forward to watching them.

I have collected a few Chanel’s and other brands over the years and recently bought another. It brings me more assurance from your video to know that it’s actually okay to have it as a collection and to take it out now and then to appreciate rather than trying to justify whether it’s a waste of money for such expensive bags and not wear them too often. I see that every one of my bags has a story at a stage of my life which I enjoy remembering when I look back at my collections. ❤

I used to never wear my bag to work or let my staff see what I wear. I started to wear my bag and rather not talk about the bag . Every time someone comments on it I just say thank you. Great topic Jess

I totally agree with not considering cost per wear for luxury handbags. I use contemporary brand handbags when I go to work, because I need to carry a heavy computer, and I end up putting my bag on the floor of a subway or a bus, and I feel so relieved that I didn't bring my Hermes or Chanel bags with me to work. I use my luxury handbags when I go shopping for fashion or when I eat out at restaurants and cafes, or when I go to classical music concerts and art museums.

this is a great topic. i used to take mine everywhere, and I realized the reason why I now overthink when wearing a bag is because of how much they cost and safety. i would hate to have it damaged or stolen and I cant replace. i do take them out on a girls night/date night, some other locations. however not really noticeable ones to the city if I am alone. also for work its best to feel the vibe and then decide. at my old job I used to, then when we went back to the office I stopped because I didn't feel it was right due to the financial struggles everyone was going through and me not wanting to get a clorox wipe or hand sanitizer on them.

Still love my bags!!! Quiet or loud…they simply make me happy!!! I am mindful of weather and surroundings. My style is casual and I don’t get dressed in fancy clothes…I use my bags…and am still curating what works and doesn’t.

Jess you’ve bought the bags you love & they are awesome, finding enjoyment looking @ them on a shelf isn’t my personal idea of utilising a bag to its full potential. “You do you boo” yes there are places I wouldn’t take a bag either as long as yr happy & healthy that’s a fab start. I’m retired (due to health issues) don’t go out anywhere too special but I’ve learned long ago to use my bags. I’ve spent a lifetime scrimping & saving to buy the bags I really wanted. There’s more years behind me as there are in front. I ask myself when I’m about to go out if not now - when will I use my bags⁉️ I know Melbourne weather can be a tricky issue, I carry a jacket & cover the bag up if it starts raining. Hubby retired & bought his “dream car”, so if not now - when does he drive it⁉️ Same thing boys/men collect their special items & have sports & hobbies. I haven't bought any new or preloved bags this year and haven't had a real desire to. But, I've been buying many designer card holders! It gives me the fix of luxury that I can enjoy daily without worrying too much about being mugged (I have in the past and had stolen luxury.) It's like my hidden gem/secret to have these small 1K luxuries stashed away in my bags :)

One of my first luxury bags was a small quilted chanel crossbody, I purchased it back in 1997, and I recently sold it, I only used it 2x's in the entire time I owned it, I was quite fearful wearing it, as I had my original LV backpack stolen in the early 90's. I have a few Hermes handbags, but I only take out my Canvas Fourre Tout Totes and Messenger. I only use my leather Hermes bags, when I go out in a semi-formal setting. I actually purchased recently 2 Mansur Gavriel handbags, that I can bring to work, one is a tote and the other is the lady bag, both are made of saffiano leather, which I find more durable. Love your content.

This is why I wear designers without logo, and overall have limit my purchases to designers that make me feel something with the design over a logo, because that mean so much more to me and other people will either like and know what it is or assume it’s a niche uncommon item that doesn’t have a price tag. But at the end of the day I love nothing more than sit down with a coffee and my nice bag and enjoy a good book, if it make you happy and can fit in your life, go for it

I'm glad i live in a small town.. i can wear my bags even in the grocery, well of course not a Chanel flap.. i think it should be worn on special occasions

Hi Jess! I have many bags that I absolutely love but afraid to wear. Mostly because I don’t want them to get dirty/ruined and I live in a major city. I just don’t feel safe if I’m not with my husband. I was walking the other morning and
carrying a LV Graceful and I noticed a guy was looking ..and then I crossed the street and he crossed and he was still looking right at me and my bag and I was like ok in these times when people are getting their phones stolen right out of their hands ..maybe I’m not going to wear anything obvious or monogram. I went into a Starbucks and he was gone when I came out but I still was very aware that he noticed my bag.

Great topic! I agree with all of lady harriets points. I dont find many occassions to wear my bags either thinking of safety and keeping them nice. I dont have a kelly or a birkin but if I did it would never see the light of day. I would feel uncomfortable carrying it and also worry about it getting damaged. My telfars bags are my everyday bags along with contemporary and ‘blink and you miss the logo’ bags from brands like prada and miu miu and can be easily worn the other way around so no logo is on show at all. I also like bottega as it feel more like a middle ground. I think some bags are beautiful and are akin to art and collectables so if they stay at home to be looked at and admired thats good too and not a waist of money if they bring joy

Just wear the bags Jess.. bags are meant to have wear and tear. They're not supposed to look like "brand new" after having them for years..

I feel exactly the same and since moving backing to Vancouver I have not been touched most of my more expensive Hermes bags !!
