Red Flag - Self employed tenants

Do you want to avoid having high risk tenants move into your property?

You need to do one very important thing any time an applicant tells you they are self employed

ask to see tax returns that show the self employment income.

I require that my applicants prove an income of at least 3 times the rent as income.

To this day, I’ve never had someone that claimed self employment be able to show me tax returns that prove their income.
