I have a tap delay setting on my pedal and a manual setting. The options in TAP, are triplet, 16th, dotted 1/4 note and 1/4 note. It’s a fun challenge to remember what setting I need for songs on the fly. My drummer although, says I take too long. But we have a laugh about it. In the manual setting, I have it set up for a great slap back. Best option for me right now, instead of reverb.

I use a slapback delay when playing along with records/CDs. Very very low level, with 1or 2 repeats. This just seems to let the guitar ride on top of the music and be more audible, whereas reverb puts the guitar behind the records and your guitar gets lost in the mix a bit.

Excellent video on a massive subject. Generally, I run a slapback sound, though sometimes with the repeats just bumped up a tiny bit. However, thanks to the Helix, I’ve been getting into stereo setups with two delays set a little different from each other.

Fwiw, my choice = FM9T II with Quilter Tone Block 202 / CB12 cab. Quilter amps have universal power supply for US / Europe. Fender told me, you gotta choose, 120V or 220V FR12 amp.... or use step down transformer. Yuck. EDIT: Please see correction below.

I have always used a delay pedal through the effects loop. To me it sounds way better than on the floor with everything else. It becomes part of the amp vs hitting the front end with other pedals...just sayin! Whatever works right?

So cool that you can't remember the delay time for someone else's slapback trick; impressive.
