Why Scientists Revived the Ancient Worm

I figured out why they did it.

So the last time scientists revived something ancient, it turned out to be a "zombie" virus. This worm actually comes from roughly the same time. Which is big news cuz it survived 40 meters of permafrost with no oxygen or water.

Scientists are learning so much from this.

First, since viruses don't count, this is the first living being, revived after millennia. That's huge compared to our previous best of just a few decades. Imagine if humans could freeze themselves and wake up in the future. Scientists think these worms survived cuz of a molecular "toolkit" they have. The toolkit creates a special sugar for the worm to endure freezing and dehydration.
