the fact that the twins call their mom by her name and their stepfather dad tells you all you need to know.

Losing a father figure twice and both of them met a unnatural fate. They went through a lot. RIP Dads.

as an identical twin - what kind of judge would ever separate twins? that is cruel.

I felt so sorry for their stepfather Steven Beard, who suffer such a tragic end to his life. He was a great man who love, adopted and provided for those girls. I could tell by the photos of his radiant smile, he was a loving individual. I believe the girls feel that he was their only true parent.

The fact that they referred Steve as their father shows how wonderful person he is ..may he rest in peace....

The fact that she got up on that stand and confronted her mother so articulately, with such courage and conviction, really hit me. Public speaking isn't easy. Especially at such a young age after all that trauma they endured.

Detectives should look into how the twins' biological father died. The mother is diabolically evil.

The judge that separated identical twins must have been insane. What those poor girls went through was completely heartbreaking .

Makes you wonder about the biological father's "suicide".

My 3 year old daughter passed away in 2018. Buying a coffin and picking the colors and details for it were the hardest and so traumatic. And she was already passed away. The way she just bought pink coffins like it was candy for her young living children is only something a monster could do. That part hit me the hardest. Rest in peace Steven. I know you're proud of your girls and the beautiful women they have become.

That poor man. Loved his wife, and those girls like his own. He didn't deserve this, neither did those girls. I'm so glad they got him justice, and are at peace knowing they do not have to live in fear. RIP, Steven Beard.

At first I felt so bad the twins were separated. Hearing that their Birth Dad killed himself I can’t help but wonder did The Mom have anything to do with his death too.

I had to testify against my mother when I was a child for abuse...it wasn't anything quite as serious as murder, but I can completely sympathize. I will say, however, it is very rewarding to have a room full of adults finally validate the lonliness, gaslighting and utter dispair that my mother caused me and my little sister.

it is very telling that they call Steve, their stepdad “Dad”, but Celeste, their biological mom, by her name

Separating twins is nothing short of cruel. Why would any judge approve that?

My heart breaks for them and for Tracey - their compassion for her is really incredible. It’s devastating that they were lucky enough to find a second father after tragically losing their own and their mother stole him from them.

I'm a mother of identical twins. I don't know why a court would separate twins! That's absolutely appalling. My twins can't go 5 seconds without getting separation anxiety. Custody is for the best interest of the child. In this case, the judge went for the parents best interest. Just sickening.

When you, as a step parent, earn more love and respect from the children than their biological parent you definitely are a super good person in my book. That doesn’t come easily - especially from teens who are naturally rebellious and all that. “You can’t tell me what to do, you’re not my real dad!” etc.

Steve must've been incredibly good to the twins. I'm so glad the girls got their justice for him. Loyalty isn't always about your own blood, but for the ones who love and care for you the most. I'm glad the twins are in a way better place now, and I hope Steve is having the best journey ever in his afterlife.

RIP Steven..my heart goes out to the twins, I am a mother of identical twin girls, I couldn't imagine anyone trying to break their bond. I'm so glad you have each other, you are both so strong.
