Everything you love about breakfast in one easy and delicious casserole. Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning or whenever you have company over. Pop it in the oven when you get up and you are good to go.

👩🏻‍🍳 BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

1 lb bulk sage pork sausage
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
10 eggs
2 cups whole milk
¼ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
3 cups frozen country style hash browns
1 cup French’s crispy fried onions
8 oz cheddar cheese
hot sauce, optional

Bake at 350 F or 177 C uncovered for 40 minutes. Then cover with foil and bake 10 more minutes.

*Be sure to let the casserole sit out at least 20-30 minutes before baking because the sudden changes in temperature may cause the dish to shatter or break.

Watched the video at 745 this morning. Bought the ingredients at 815. Had it in the oven at 10:00am. And was on my way to my wife's job at 11:30am. They loved it!!! Had some in another pan, daughter and the grandchildren showed up for lunch, and they loved it!!!! Excellent recipe!!!

My mother fixed this for us backed in the late 50's and 60's when we was young. She put her Louisiana touch to it and she had the whole house smelling so good.. We also had hot buttered homemade biscuits too. Lord have Mercy.. I am going to make this when my family come over.💖💖💖💖💖

MAKE THIS NOW. I made this for my man's work Christmas party last year and people have been asking him about it all day, if I'm bringing the casserole. If you remember a breakfast casserole you had a year ago, it was GOOD. And I remember my man snagging me a piece too, and YES. YUM YUM YUM. This one's going in the recipe box.

I made this dish this past weekend when having many over night guests. My variance from the recipe was that I used Jimmy Dean's maple sausage and grilled onions instead of fried onions. It was easy to prepare and cook. Plus, it was a big hit. My nephew (10 yrs. old) said it was the best casserole he had had "in his entire life." On previous visits he did not like my scrambled eggs, regardless of how I prepared them.

TRIED IT: it was a Christmas morning HIT!!! Everybody loved it. I was cooking for 9 people (5 were adult men) so I doubled up on the meat & potatoes and cheese and made it in a 18x24” pan with about 15 eggs. Even the kids (3 boys ages 7, 6, 5) enjoyed it!

I served this plus a make ahead French toast bake. Popped both in the oven together (in separate pans) for an hour while we were opening gifts and they both turned out great and I had zero leftovers - they cleaned their plates!!! 😊

I have been doing something similar for the last 25 years. Instead of hash browns, I rip up sour dough bread (6 slices) beat 10 eggs mix with milk/halfnhalf/ cream cheese then pour onto the bread and let it sit for 20 min so the bread soaks it all up. Thin layer of sharp cheddar on top...unless you did the cream cheese...also unless you like all that cheese then do both. Sometimes I add baby bella mushrooms, spinach and feta instead of cheddar...there are so many variations....Food is awesome

Omg! I've just tried this for my brunch and it came out awesome. Instead, I used the precook hash brown and I crumble them up as a bottom layer. Instead of the onion crunch I used regular onions with the green/red peppers and my brunch, love it. Thank you so much.

I just made this dish. I added some spinach & sliced mushrooms & some cherry tomatoes. I also fried a half an onion with the meat etc.The rest was exactly the same as the recipe. It is delicious...& will make again.
