This Would Destroy OSRS if Jagex Make these Changes!

So we have a very controversial survey that was sent out a few days ago. It details a bunch of membership price changes, but also new tiers of membership that would include different features.

They detail cheaper membership limitations such as ad based membership, lower afk times and disallowing 3rd party plugins. There are also suggestions for memberships that would include multiple characters, but at a massive monthly price increase.

This is a slap in the face that is going to leave a scar. Jagex just proved they have the tools to improve account security and costumer support, but are going to hold it ransom from us. What’s even more repulsive is them showing that they are willing to take away key elements and quality of life aspects from the client itself as a punishment of not paying enough money.

Ads in a video game that I pay for is craaazy

WHEN they walk this back i want everyone to remember door in the face. It's a negotiation strategy where you make an outrageous request then walk it back to a moderate one. Prices were hiked 5 months ago. WHEN they propose a more mild hike after all this outrage, the answer should still be membership cancellation.

This is absolutely insane. Membership already costs $20 AUD a month here in Australia - That top tier option is $52 AUD a month. Ridiculous. The tier that includes ads would clock in at $18 a month too, $2 less a month than what we’re paying now for both games, for the privilege of being advertised to. Absolute bullsh*t.

The shorter AFK timer is there to annoy you into paying more to get it removed. Same as ads. A dirty direction for RuneScape to go.

Why has noone mentioned the fact they are trying to charge you $13.99 per additional character.... MORE than the base membership cost? How does that make any sense?
