i decided to do 7 dresden blades for the highs and make one basket for the lowest temperature of the week onto a background square...that will give me 52 12 inch blocks without being overwhelmed. I am using scraps of light and dark colors to use up all of my orphan fat quarters and have an 100 temperature range and am doing that with twenty color schemes. I can't was 44 when I got up and 78 this afternoon

I look forward to seeing what everyone makes. What fun ideas to use florals, houses, etc. And your birth year! I can't grasp mechanicals of 3" blocks, matching seams. How about 30 blocks of birth month! Could do something special for the birth day.

I just finished mine and I love it. I made a block each morning. It was great as I had my iron and machine on, I would jump into working on another project.

Another good idea is to make a temperature quilt for a special occasion such as the 1st year or a baby’s life the 1st year of a newly wed couple. You can start one any part of the year - as long as you complete a full year the temperature colors will circle back around. I am planing to do one whenever I have grandchildren for their 1st year of life.

Love it!! I have already decided to do a temperature quilt with another YouTube channel, but I'm thinking of doing 2! One for this year and one for my birth year! What fun 🎉

Love the idea of a Birthday Year Temperature Quilt...wouldn't that make a great birthday gift for someone, in THEIR year!

I've been thinking about the temperature range and then the "feels like " temperature. For us northerners, it might be -30, but with the windchill it could be -40 (celcius). Same thing applies for humidity. I don't know if this information is tracked, but I think there'd be a much greater variance in temps. 😮

Yeah, me too, I've already decided to make my first temperature quilt, and for 2024 with another YT channel. But - it would be super interesting to do one for my birth year, as I live in Australia, but was born in the UK - so that would make for 2 very different quilts... so Yay! Was already subscribed, and now I've hit that notification Bell and look forward to the next video. Cheers 🤩

Thank you for this detailed video! Makes me want to do another temperatures quilt. I love the simplistic one you have hanging. My mind is on overdrive. I want a simple block so that it isn't a daunting yearly task. LOL I can't wait until the 18th to see your block ideas!

I absolutely love the idea of doing a quilt for my birth year and this year to compare.

Where do we get your ideas for blocks, I love the idea of the Dresden blades, but I’m a new quilter and maybe another year. But I hope to see that one when it’s done. I was thinking a log cabin look with each middle square a different month and then the high and low would be the light and dark. I think I could handle that better

This will be fun, I knitted a temp blanket a few years ago, it turned out very colorful.

I’m doing 2 this year. One for my birth year (1964😉) and this year for my 60th!

What about using the 10 Sisters grid for this? Or too simple?

Very excited to see the options available to make this quilt. Problem. I cannot find a site that will give me data for South America in 1952. Any options.

What was the name of the fabric collection that your friend used in her quilt above? Thank you, Karen Sorenson
