When the wedding scene started from childhood, I lost myself in sadness for Ryuko. Her mother found the deepest feelings that she wished for years. She just wanted a normal family and loving parents to take care of her. That's why she was so aggressive back then, she was lonely and lost. She lived in pain for years. And when she started to live with her friend's family, she was so happy. Because after that terrible years she found a place she can be loved...

Some people think that this is only an anime filled with fan service, but what they don't realize is the deepness of it...This song is the representation of the deepness. I hope people will start to see this anime differently

For the people who doesn't understand the lyrics, it's basically ryuko's father singing this

"How long you had to wait for me"
"you can't think of yesterday"
Probably his regret for leaving her on a boarding school, but since he needs to continue on his research and probably doesn't want to danger her while doing so, so he didn't have much of a choice.

"I got in the fight"
"When you saw me"
"But I couldn't talk"
"and sprawled out on the floor"
"So it's too late"
This is when he was dying by the scissor blade, he has so much to tell his daughter and yet he doesn't have enough time to say all of it before dying in the house fire.

"If you could hear my secret"
"Now, I really want to talk"
"It's a shame"
This one's so obvious, its the fact about the life fibers, his past, her real mother who is ragyo, and his fight with her.

"A way you can find what you seek"
That way is probably senketsu

"You'll be stronger for real"
Basically him putting his trust in her.

This is Isshin when Nui killed him, watching Ryuko Crying in the rain through the window. The secret he's talking about is Senketsu, which he had to develop in secret, making her "stronger for real". He can't talk to her, even though he wants to. He wants to know if Ryuko loves him since he was never around, and they hardly got the change to speak properly. He got in a fight, now he's sprawled out on the floor, thinking of her.

I'm not crying, it's just Senketsu.

When ryuko screams all the hurt and frustration that courses through her body with tears in her eyes. When explains that she was the monster. Then when she drives away, being lost, unsure of who she was. That was unquestionably one of the best scenes in the anime.

This reminds me of Ryuuko and her father.
He's trying to talk to her.
This song, I'm guessing, is that her father is trying to tell her many things before he died. He wanted to tell her the secrets before he was murdered by Nui. He wanted to tell her about Senketsu and about her life. Many people say the lyrics don't make sense, but after hearing them thoroughly, I finally understand.
The only thing her father wanted, was to talk to her before he died.

Ryuko's pain at the revelation of her existence... put in the form of song.

You know. Kill la Kill showed me that anime can have a heart of its own. The amount of metaphor and deep life connections in this show is astonishing for all of the action it packed into 24 episodes...

For example: "The fact that you are embarrassed by the values of the masses only proves how small you are!" Two minutes later: "The reason you were drinking so much blood was because i rejected you out of embarrassment. The more my heart closed the more you yearned for a blood connection!"

Just those few minutes of Ep. 3. Nailed the "Fan Service" right into the coffin when i realized Senketsu was a metaphor created to not only show the masses how many see girls as weak and sex objects,
but to show the confidence and power you can create when you accept you the way you are,
AND to accept the ones around you who truly care for you and will stand by your side through life.

ALL IN THREE MINUTES TOPS....

For me, that was the episode that hooked me. Up until that fight i had thought it was a fan service sex outfit. I'm happy i held on until Ep. 3. If i didn't i would have missed one of the best animes i've seen in a long time...

Ryuko : I'm never gonna wear you again.
Senketsu : Huh?.. Ryuko?
Ryuko : Just looking at you PISSES ME OFF! I'm a life fiber monster just like you.

For an anime about fan service and humor with quick flashy action that's supposed to make you laugh, this song will make you break down and cry.

Just watched kill la kill, this song is definitely my favorite out of all the absolute bangers this show has.

Ragyo knew what Ryuko didn't have and used it as a way of torturing her even further. That kind of evil can only be similar to the likes of Dio and Griffith. It makes a song such as this even more tragic.

The part that gets me the most is "and now I really want to talk."

It's just so simple, just wanting to have one more conversation with the person you love. It could mean anything to the listener, wanting to say sorry, or explain what is happening, or just to hear the other's voice. But the singer knows they won't get that chance.

Damn this show has stuck with me for 6 years. Props to trigger for this one. They changed the way I view things. I’ll never forget when ryuko said that she can’t take off the life fibers because they are apart of her body and she’s stuck with it. The show seems to have multiple levels of understanding to it. It appears to have quite a bit of “fan service” but then as you study each character and learn the true meaning behind certain scenes you start to watch a second show hidden by the first.
