Genialer Cembalist!

2:40-8:17 The K204a sonata in F minor. It epitomizes Scarlatti's music for me. It was the one that made me fall completely in love with the sonatas. It's so joyous and thrilling that I was hooked. I highly recommend tracking down Igor Kipnis' Scarlatti and buying it; it's some of the best recorded, easily.

Peace of mind! When I listen to the beautiful tone, a mental condition improves.

The passage starting at 59:36 is so beautiful.

Most of this Part 2 was an album I had engrained in my head in the 1980s. Driving with this playing in the fall as the trees turned colors and the fall winds... enough said...

K. 87 (27:06) gets to me every time. 😥.
It sounds as though Maestro Kipnis may have been playing on an original lute harpsichord.

This music is mere mortals tasting the sublime.

It's the same "insane" way of handling the instrument that most people feel from Beethoven compositions. Very unusual for the Baroque times to "punch" the keys like that.

Does anyone know the name of the final sonata played here?
It starts at 103:00.
It is excellent

I rather the version which is faster, the one near the ending of the video, seems to have too much unnecesary pauses
